We are a consultancy firm and service provider to the entertainment and leisure industry, specializing in sponsorship procurement, implementation strategy, venue management, staff training and incentives, and actions and events. We are the conduit between our clients' wants and needs and the myriad of professional connections we've made over the past 18 years.
Wine is complicated, with over 4500 labels available in South Africa alone. On behalf of our clients, we select the most appropriate wines according to customer profiling, seasons, location and food offering. The process is traditionally conducted via a Blind Tasting.
- Obtaining samples from the industry under specific price guidelines and potential cultivar offerings.
- Selection of appropriate number of wines for our blind tastings
- Having selected a panel of approximately 10 industry professionals and venue management staff, we conduct a full blind tasting with scoring at every round. Averages are calculated and then the labels are revealed, with an ensuing discussion.
- The blind tasting process ensures we select the best possible wine, guaranteeing the best support, relationship and marketing opportunities that benefit both parties
- Our mandate is to protect the suppliers' interests to ensure a minimum term of listing and highest possible ROI for the farm.
Our business and our extensive connection database in the sponsorship and supplier industry often lead to Divine Intervention being approached to assist with sponsorship of large events in South Africa.
Divine Events has worked closely with many big - up to 20 000 - events as well as smaller charity and fundraising NGO initiatives. We assist with stock and infrastructure requirements as well as negotiate pouring right status on all beverages for the events. With the brands' best interest at heart, we promote appropriate brand activations, displays and perfect serve scenarios. We manage this entire process while cementing future relationships.
We have worked with Madame Zingara Tour (art and dining), MCQP (SA's largest pink parade), DSTV Delicious Festival (food and local/international music), Kings of Chaos (international rock music), Rocktober (intimate annual fundraising event), Bachelor and Bachelorette South Africa (charity fundraising event) and Maserati Cape to Rio (international ocean racing).
We form an integral part in ensuring the right sponsorship support from the suppliers in the beverage industry for the venues. From group corporations to individual restaurant sites, we analyse branding opportunities, procure pouring rights status and address activation needs. Our existing clients include:
Ocean Basket Group - Holistic approach. Franchise operators support the appropriate beverage offering with financial support from suppliers. Integral in Ocean Basket plan is the implementation strategy of marketing endeavours nationally and regionally to offer the best value to customers with staff incentives, stock deals and customer interaction.
Harbour House Group - A massive growth operation needs the versatility to create immediate offerings as new stores and new brands are continuously opening. It also needs to continue to offer its suppliers ROI on their products. We oversee this process while protecting the value of each store within its community.
Madame Zingara - a hugely exciting project to be involved in, with two different facets: one being the extraordinary Celebration Tour of the travelling tent and the second being the continued success of their 6 restaurants in Cape Town.

"Divine Interventions became an asset to Mavericks in 2011 and have assisted us in negotiating best price deals, pouring rights and marketing revenues. With Shaun Terry’s contacts and knowledge of the beverage industry, he has introduced us to the decision makers of the main beverage companies and has worked diligently to assisting Mavericks in enhancing beverage revenues and maximizing marketing contributions"
"Mondiall had the pleasure of working with Divine Intervention when we first opened our doors, 3 years ago, and offered fantastic support when building customer relations with our beverage suppliers. They also proved to be a great asset in the curation of our first wine list and we would gladly recommend their services as Shaun Terry is always a pleasure to work with."
"We started working with Divine Intervention in 2016 and the experience has been nothing but outstanding. It was apparent from day 1 that they have unparalleled ties within Cape Town’s hospitality industry and that working alongside them to grow our brand equity in the market would be plain sailing. Their communication is clear, concise and you can be rest assured that they are always busy with something new."
"A quick thank you for the time that I spent with you on a professional relationship. We've grown the on-con channel from null to a reasonable parallel business feature. I hope that your Rosendal relationship will grow from strength to strength and will provide success for all parties involved."
